you know i never thought you would hear these words come out of my mouth but here goes...when i was a kid...yea i sound like my parents i know but...things were different back then. remember when a fist fight was between two people? it was a one on one event that resulted in one victor and one loser. when i was in high school i was a smoker, in this story i mean cigarette smoker. before school all of us who smoked would go across the street from the school for one or two last smokes before classes started for the day, and before the buses pulled out we would go over for one more. one afternoon before the buses left there was a fight on our side of the street. a few new kids were over there that day so we all knew something was gonna go down before it happened. what i saw that day brought me to tears, and changed out little smoker world permanently. one of the new kids came across the street and was accosted by two of the other ones. it was two on one...which was hard enough to see happening. i was always taught to defend myself when need be, don't instigate a fight as that is the smaller man(or woman), and when the one i am fighting is no longer able to defend him/herself to walk away. in my eyes only the coward kicks a man when he's down. so the one who was accosted hit the ground, he fought a good fight but he was outmanned. they continued to pummel him after he hit the ground!!! we were all shocked! one of them pulled his foot back and gave him a few good kicks to the ribs. i don't know if it was a miscalculation or deliberat but the findal kick landed right on the kids temple!!! it was the hardest kick, and it sent the kid into seizures!!!it all happened so fast that just as this kick was being delt the administrators came running across the street. the other two took off before the man could get there, but he saw them and knew who they were. now they wouldn't even bother kicking...they would just pull out a gun!!! my father taught us to defend ourselves like i said earlier, don't instigate and walk away when your opponent goes down. i don't condone fighting by any means, my kids will be raised with the rules my father raised me with, but what ever happened to fighting like a man?
